Two members of our department participated in the CTAO school.

The Cherenkov Telescope Array Observatory (CTAO) is currently under construction. It is planned to consist of two arrays of Cherenkov telescopes, located on the Canary Island of La Palma (CTAO-North) and in the Atacama Desert of Chile (CTAO-South), to cover the entire sky. Some parts of CTAO-North are already in their commissioning phase, during which the instruments and systems are being tested and prepared for full scientific operations.

From June 14 to June 25, 2025, the CTAO school took place, a two-week workshop that educated students, PhD students, and postdoctoral researchers about technologies and science used by CTAO. The first week was held in Bertinoro, Italy, and the second week on La Palma, where CTAO-North is based. Participants learned about current research topics in very high-energy astrophysics, writing scientific proposals, performing observations with CTAO, conducting data analyses, and presenting their scientific projects. They also visited several astrophysical facilities on La Palma.

This year, Luca Di Bella, a member of our department, attended the CTAO school, while our former chair member, Dr. Max Linhoff, served as a lecturer.
