Teaching Award for Dr. Dominik Elsässer
- Allgemein
On the awarding of the prize, the Rectorate announces:
"This year, the Rectorate awards the teaching prize to Dr. Dominik Elsässer for outstanding achievements in teaching in large, digital courses (60 participants and more). Mr Elsässer was nominated by the physics student council for his commitment in the course "Astroparticle Physics I". The nomination was also supported by the alumni association Pep et al. e.V. of the Faculty of Physics as well as by the Dean of the Faculty of Physics, Professor Kevin Kröninger. With extraordinary pedagogical dedication, Mr Elsässer has succeeded in making the lecture "Astroparticle Physics I" one of the most popular courses - so popular, in fact, that some students now attend it several times. This is due in particular to the fact that the lecturer meets the students at eye level and conveys his specialist knowledge with concrete references to everyday reality.
Mr Elsässer's nomination was particularly convincing because he was able to maintain this special connection to the students even during the conversion to digital teaching. With great commitment, he has transferred his lecture into an intuitively understandable and sensibly structured online format, which still focuses on interaction with and among the students. Mr Elsässer's lecture is thus exemplary for a successful implementation of digital teaching and learning methods, which will be honoured this year with the TU Dortmund teaching award.
On behalf of the rectorate, we congratulate Dr. Elsässer very warmly on this award! "
We fully agree with this and congratulate Dr. Elsässer once again on behalf of the chair!
